For genealogists, the arrival of low-priced DNA testing has provided a new and powerful tool for research. Questions that cannot be answered by traditional genealogy are now (sometimes) answered easily by DNA testing.
While genealogical DNA testing can often reveal the relationship between two or more people, it has next to nothing to say about individual people. Thus, folks who are curious about their own genetic heritage will not learn much from genealogical testing.
