Some companies offer a service in which they store a sample of your DNA, either for a set time or indefinitely. This service is most often used with DNA identity testing, but it may have other uses, too. For instance, suppose you anticipate a struggle over your estate after you have passed away. You could have your DNA preserved while you are still alive, to be used after your death to help settle any claims against your estate. This is an example of relationship testing.
DNA banking/storage is not really a DNA testing service per se, but we have included it since it’s so closely connected with actual testing services.
